Houses from timber - 200 photos of modern design. Projects of turnkey timber wooden houses

Houses from a bar - a popular solution today. Houses built from this material are distinguished by a number of positive qualities and cost the owners quite inexpensively. The popularity of timber houses is due to their environmental friendliness, high construction speed and relatively low cost.

Material Details

Timber is an environmentally friendly material made from solid wood by sawing. Unlike logs, the bars have straight sides and fit snugly against each other, due to which high strength of the house and excellent heat and sound insulation are achieved.

The shape of the beam is most often rectangular, but a square beam can be used to erect the frames (for example, 150 × 150). If we are talking about decorating houses from timber, then a rectangular timber is used.

More than 90% of modern timber is made from coniferous trees. It is coniferous wood that perfectly retains heat, is resistant to low and high temperatures, and is also able to maintain its perfect condition for many years.

Strength and resistance to decay is achieved due to the high percentage of resins in the wood structure. Before deliveries, the timber is additionally treated with antiseptics and dried to the required value. That is why, choosing a beam for building a house, you can be sure that pests will not start in it and rot will not spread.

Bar classification

The beam is classified according to several parameters. Depending on the geometric shape, the beam can be simple and profiled. The construction of houses from timber can be carried out using both types of material.

A simple beam has a rectangular or square shape and absolutely even sides. In other words, it is a simple rectangle or square without extra thread.

The profiled beam is offered in a rectangular shape, and also has additional ridges, grooves and locks created in the wood structure. Thanks to this additional threading, the links are reliably folded together (like a puzzle), due to which high heat and sound insulation is achieved. Houses from profiled timber are a little more expensive, but these costs are fully justified.

The second important classification is the manufacturing method. There is a solid and glued beam on the market. The first is made in a quite familiar way: sawing a rectangle or square from a solid tree with subsequent alignment and processing.

Glued beams are produced in a completely different way. First, boards of the same length and width are made from coniferous trees. Then they are treated with antiseptics and glued under high pressure using natural resins.

Despite the complexity of the procedure, modern technology allows you to create glued elements of exactly the same size (100 × 150, etc.).

House projects

The bar is simple and versatile. This material does not require close monitoring and lengthy calculations, as, for example, when laying bricks. That is why the projects of houses from timber can be very different. From this material it is possible to build 1-storey and multi-storey buildings with different layouts.

It is also important that the weight of the timber is less than the weight of other materials, so such houses do not require the creation of high-strength and expensive foundations.

Projects must adapt to the conditions in which the house will be built: type of soil, climate features, etc.Thanks to modern technologies, you can order the construction of a house both according to standard projects, and according to individual requirements. Numerous photos of timber houses clearly demonstrate how diverse their design and layout can be.

By the way, the interior of houses made of timber is very attractive, which is achieved due to the versatility of the material and its beautiful appearance (even without additional decorative processing). Additional external beauty can be imparted to the house when using large panoramic windows, additional decorative elements, etc.

The advantages of timber houses

Despite the low cost, such houses have many advantages, including:

  • beautiful appearance (to look attractive and modern, the material does not need additional processing);
  • ecological purity (there are no harmful chemicals in the structure, and natural resins are used as antiseptics);
  • quick construction (it takes about 3-4 weeks to build a one-story house from a bar);
  • saving on the foundation (large investments in it are not required, since the load on it is very low);
  • resistance to external negative influences (additional impregnation allows the timber to withstand the effects of high and low temperatures, high humidity and even fire);
  • price (such houses are much cheaper than brick houses), etc.

If earlier wooden buildings were accompanied by many problems (decay, low thermal insulation, a tendency to fire, etc.), today there are no such problems. A modern beam goes through several stages of manufacture, and also passes a check for compliance with GOST. That is why the safety of such buildings is at a high level.

Are there any disadvantages?

If we talk about the disadvantages of structures from timber, then they are much less than the pluses. All the negative qualities of the timber are associated with the lack of quality processing. For example, if the wood is not dried to the required value, the risk of rotting increases.

High-quality timber should be dried in special chambers, which takes from 10 to 20 days. Also, the lack of quality drying slows down the shrinkage process.

The second important point is antiseptic and fireproofing. If the wood is not processed by these means, the reliability of the construction will not be so high. If the beam is treated with the necessary solutions, you need to make sure of their quality. To do this, you can ask the manufacturer to provide the necessary information about the material.

To order the construction of such a house today is very simple. You can build it at any time of the year, in just a few weeks. At the same time, the construction company takes into account the wishes of customers, finalizing existing projects or creating new individual ones.
