Short description

The plant has 28 species. The most common ones are:

Spiky Irga. It is a shrub or tree with a dense crown. Leaves are dark green. The flowering of the irgi occurs in April.

The alder-plant variety has leaves that are similar in size and appearance to alder leaves. The tree has an even trunk, inflorescences are down, the fruits are round.

Canadian shrimp is a large tree or shrub. The variety withstands frost, is not picky about soil quality and moisture.

Round-leaved (or ordinary) cirrus is a shrub reaching a height of up to 2.5 m. White flowers are collected in racemose inflorescences. The fruits have a bluish-black color.

The most popular species, which is bred in the middle lane, is considered to be a round-topped Irga. Shrub or tree can be found in the Alps, as well as in the Caucasus mountains and Crimea. If you do not remove the shoots growing from the rhizomes in time, the shrub can form thickets.

Rules for planting seedlings

On your personal plot it is best to plant a mature shoot, aged from one to two years. It should be healthy and not have visible damage. Before landing, you must consider:

  • Season of the year. A favorable time for planting is early autumn, when the period of frost has not come.
  • The distance between the bushes should be at least 2 m.
  • The landing site should be well lit.
  • The soil must be moistened and fertilized.

A beginner gardener will cope with planting and caring for the irga. In the process of work you will need: a shovel, a watering can with water, compost, drainage, sand.

Step-by-step instructions for landing Irgi

Dig a not deep hole in the area cleared of weeds, with a depth of at least half a meter. Mix the soil from the pit with sand, compost, rotted organic waste. Add fertilizer if necessary.

Part of the resulting soil is laid at the bottom of the pit.If the soil is loamy, then the pit should be dug 10 cm deeper, and put drainage from pebbles or broken bricks at the bottom.

The roots should go down, distributed from the center to the edges of the recess. Fill the soil with the root system (not the trunk). To trample the earth and to water plentifully with 10 liters of water. If the soil settles around the tree, add earth, thereby comparing it with the general surface.

After planting, the plant must be observed and watered when the soil dries. The shrub is unpretentious and usually quickly takes root in a new place.

Cultivation and care

Irga is a drought-tolerant plant, therefore it is recommended to water it in arid weather in the evening, when the heat drops. You can water under the root or with a sprayer the whole bush. In the latter case, dust is washed off the leaves and berries. For better penetration of moisture into the soil, the area under the bush must be regularly cleaned of weeds.

Five years after planting, it is recommended to fertilize the tree once a year with humus, liquid organic fertilizing or fertilizers.

Growing pear, like another plant, it should be remembered that any nutrients should be entered correctly, and not pour them under the root. Such a rash step can lead to a burn of the roots or the complete destruction of the garden culture.

Pruning

For good fruiting, irgi need to periodically cut old and weak branches. When to cut the irga? Work should be carried out in early spring before the period of budding.

Eliminate old and weak branches, as well as the tops of a tree or shrub iri. Cropping of the crown is carried out in order to prevent the growth of branches up. Also eliminated are branches that thicken the bush.

Reproduction of Irgi

The plant is capable of propagating by seeds and cuttings, root shoots or division of the bush. The most convenient and often used method of reproduction is the removal of root shoots and their planting in a new place. The soil should be well fertilized and moist.

Diseases and Pests

The main pests of the culture are weevil (creeper) and speckled moth.

The seed-eater displays offspring in the berries of the berry, thereby bringing irreparable damage to the crop. The insect has an elongated front part, can fly from one place to another.

Speckled moths belong to the butterfly family. They lay eggs in leaves, which, from damage by moths, begin to curl up into a tube. The caterpillars of these butterflies also feed on leaves.

To control pests, you will need a solution of an insecticide (Malathion, Karbafos, Fufanon and other drugs).

Conclusion

Berries of a berry are often added to dishes. Tinctures are infused from it, jam is made, wine and fruit drinks are made. Due to its medicinal properties, products derived from irgi have medicinal properties.
